JJ as, discussed last night, I would like a full garage day before practice day, ideally with enough time to break in my new rings before then. I would prefer it to be on a weekend I don't have my kids, so the ideal date for ME would be Feb 27 or 28. I think that another individual expressed an interest in Saturdays over Sunday, but I could be mistaken on that.

    Werd to yer moms.

I am going over our calendar. I really don't have a free Saturday before the first practice. I can make arrangements with Eric to open up the garage fro you on whatever day you choose, and I can possible come hang out a bit while you are working..but I will have Ava and wont be fully free to wrench with you those days. I will let you know when i am there on other days.

just call ASC (not on the 'official' list, I know) and tell what you need. Eric, or whomever will hook you up.

I'd recommend First Kick if you want it sooner tho. You'd probably have it by Friday if you order before 3pm.

I just want the nuts, flat washers and lock washers, and if I order from McMaster Carr I should have them tomorrow, and they are about 4 cents a piece.

Oh, I thought you wanted the bolts.

Doesn't the M in M6 or M7 stand for millimeter? So an M8 nut would fit a 8 millimeter bolt and you'd use a 8mm wrench on it?

the M stands for metric, and its the nominal diameter of the associated through hole. An M6 takes a 10 mm, M7 an 11, and an M8 a 13 mm wrench.... but I cant remember what sockets I used for where. I think I used 11 mm socket, which would make them M7 which is kinda an oddball/rare size.

It's been a while, but I think the studs for a Vespa top-end are 11mm.

yes. 11mm nuts on the smallframe and p-125 150. 13mm on the 200 barrel nuts. jamie. you should be able to get some at ptown. or try the fastener place out on columbia, get a big box of them.

Any hardware store worth its salt should carry 11mm or 13mm nuts and washers.

I do not have a problem sourcing what I need, I just needed to make sure I am getting the right size.

and FWIW, I seriously doubt you will find the M7 (11 mm wrench) in a hardware or auto-parts store, but could be wrong. The M6 (10 mm wrench) M8 (13 mm wrench) should be everywhere.

Are you shopping for wrenches or hardware? Maybe I have it good, but the Ace down the street has both in stock.

The case bolts are M7 (11mm wrench) They are available at a good hardware store. I have a plenty if you want to stop by and take what you need.

I lied and won't be available Sunday. The garage is still open to you guys though. sorry. KT has something work related going on that I forgot about. Let me know what time you want to wrench and I will have Eric open the shop or I will come down and do it myself. I will Ava with me though so no wrenching for me.

Homo depot always has nice shiny hardware. The Ace harware store downtown (near Yurs) has all the hardware you could ever want. I found some nice Stainless hardware for my lambretta and vespa down there.

"I was going to order some hardware for my cases. are the case bolts and head bolts M6 or M7? "

Just out of curiosity, where in this question did I ever ask where to source hardware? I was not sure on a size.... I have more resources for sourcing any whack-job and oddball hardware (as well as standard) than I know what to do with, and at a reduced rate through work if I buy in a small volume (usually 100 pcs). But seriously, how did "where" come out of "what size"?

I was not referring to offers of free goods... I was referring to advice as to where to BUY at much lower quantities and higher prices than I can get through work. For most common hardware (which I still contend an M7 split washer is NOT common) I can get quantities of 100 for dirt cheep on a two day turn around with no shipping cost through work. The split washers I will ave by Monday or Tuesday, so like 5 days.

You still down for Sunday Sean? As discussed last night, JJ can arrange for the garage to be open/opened for us on Sunday, he just doesn't get to work. My plan is to be there around 10 am, with Don Chile in tow.
