That is talking about an extension as in adding length to the lever arm, which we absolutely effect your torque settings by default. We were talking about adding an extension to the drive, around the center of rotation. Two very different things. All the formula is is a ratio of lever arms. If you double the lever arm, you divide the torque in half. If you make you lever arm 10 times longer, you cut the setting by 1/10th..... this is of course if you put the length extension between the ratchet and the bolt. If you just add a peice of pipe to the other end, your settings will be the same.
Funny, I did not even scroll down on that web page, I just read the top paragraph. Sounds like my confusion comes from the universal use of the term "adapter" and "length". Thanks,
